本书的诞生有三个契机。
个是腾讯的“930变革”。2018年腾讯决定深耕消费互联网,拥抱产业互联网。既然定位是“拥抱”,那就要开始积极钻研,包括了解中国企业数字化升级的路径,组织转型时会遇到的挑战,等等。
产业互联网是利用数字化科技帮助企业进行降本增效、管理和商业模式的创新。产业互联网与消费互联网很不一样,消费互联网可以在某个领域赢者通吃,但产业互联网很难做到这一点,因为不同行业(如零售、制造、农业、医疗等)的痛点和需求差别很大,数字化助力不同行业的企业转型升级的路径也有所不同。因此,研究产业数字化必须涵盖多行业的案例,这样才能提炼出更加通用的框架。
第二个是2019年我与戴维·尤里奇(Dave Ulrich)合作出的一本书——《组织革新》,讲述企业未来的组织架构的演变。《哈佛商业评论》的编辑问我,《组织革新》中的8家案例企业都是偏高科技的企业,实体经济里的传统企业未来演变方向也是如此吗?这引起了我的兴趣。
第三个缘于我在腾讯除了担任集团高级管理顾问外的另一个身份——腾讯青腾教务长。青腾是一个与校友企业、合作伙伴一起共创知识的学习平台,累计有近500个校友企业,它们遍布于新消费、新农业、医疗、教育、出行、前沿科技、文化产业等前沿产业领域。
我于2019年开始进行企业数字化转型升级的研究,调研多个行业的标杆企业后颇感其迫切性和重要性。于是开始把数字化、智能化的主题注入北大-青腾未来产业学堂,通过与青腾同学的共创,探索不同行业的数字化转型答案。
2020年疫情加速了企业数字化转型的进度。经过一批早期案例的调研,我把自己的思考框架提炼为“数智革新杨五环”(下称杨五环),作为解剖和引领企业数字化转型的蓝图。
