作者简介： 约翰·洛克（1632－1704年），英国哲学家、启蒙思想家。1646年，他在威斯敏斯特学校接受严格的古典文学训练，1652年，他入读牛津大学，1658年获硕士学位。洛克深受笛卡尔哲学思想的影响，开创了英国哲学的经验主义传统，同时他也是个提出人的自然权利的哲学家。他的思想不仅对孟德斯鸠、伏尔泰、卢梭等影响巨大，而且在美国独立宣言里也光彩闪耀。他的重要著作有《政府论》《论宗教宽容》《人类理解论》《基督教的合理性》等。

译者简介：雪也，原名耿丽，女，生于1982年，山东莱芜人，徐州师范大学文学学士。翻译作品有《鸟的天空》等。
