手工钨极氩弧焊是国内目前发展最快、应用最广泛的一种实用焊接技术。近年来,氩弧焊接,特别是手工钨极氩弧焊接技术已经成为各种金属结构连接手段中不可缺少的技术。所以,国内各行各业对氩弧焊工人的需求越来越大。近几年来氩弧焊的机械化、自动化程度不断提高,并向着数控化方向发展,达到了一个工业技术需求更高的阶段。
氩弧焊之所以能获得如此广泛的应用,主要是因为有如下优点。
①氩弧焊采用惰性气体保护,减少了合金元素的烧损,可以得到致密、无飞溅、高质量的焊接接头。
② 氩弧焊的电弧稳定,热量集中,弧柱温度高,热影响区窄,焊件应力、变形、裂纹倾向小。
③ 氩弧焊为明弧焊接,方便焊接过程的观察,容易操作。
④氩弧焊几乎能焊接所有金属,特别是难熔金属、易氧化金属,如钛、镁、镍、锆、铝等及其合金。
⑤ 不受焊件的位置限制,可在任何情况下,进行全位置焊接。
⑥ 容易实现机械化和自动化控制。
