行龙,男,1958年11月出生,山西新绛人,中共党员,教授,中国近现代史、经济史专业博士生导师。山西大学中国社会史研究中心主任,山西大学校史研究室主任。社会兼职中国史学会理事,山西省历史学会会长,*历史教学指导委员会委员,中国社会史学会常务理事,中国人口学会人口历史专业委员会委员等。山西省首批青年学科带头人,1993年起享受国务院政府特殊津贴。

致读者

我们很早就想创办这样一份学术刊物了。按照章法没有刊号不称其刊,“发刊词”之类更是不敢攀援的,但还是有几句话需要向读者做个交代。
刊物取名《社会史研究》,宗旨是不言自明的,那就是刊登与社会史研究的理论、方法、实证、评论等有关的研究成果,是社会史研究同仁学术交流的共同平台。就像社会史研究的五彩缤纷一样,《社会史研究》持守开放的姿态,绝不以学科画地为牢。
鉴于社会史研究现状的纷繁芜杂,也就是人们担心的“碎化”,《社会史研究》每辑突出一个主题,但这个主题又必须是我们以为的研究前沿和热点,也就是大家共同关注的问题。以质量求生存,以特色求发展,是本刊取舍稿件的标尺。
除了每辑刊登相关的学术论文外,《社会史研究》专设两个小栏目。一曰“学术评论”,以本辑主题为中心展开有关学术史的评论;一曰“资料选编”,以山西大学中国社会史研究中心所藏资料整理选编。适当与否,有赖以教。
