二十世纪后几年，文学界一个引人注目的景观，就是散文热的再度兴起。进入新世纪以来，这种热度仍在持续升温。这其中 , 尤以反思历史与传统文化的“大散文”“新散文”理念风靡盛行，出现一批思接千载、视通万里、谈古论今、学识渊博的作品，给散文园地增添了新的色彩和样态。与此同时，传统意义上靠阅览、回忆、清谈、抒怀等书写人生百态的散文作品，也有一定变革，多数作家不再拘于云淡风轻的个人世界，从远离红尘的小情小感中脱离出来，融入充满生机与活力的现实之中，写出大量贴近大众生活的优秀作品，受到广泛赞誉。大体来说，这二十多年来我国的散文领域一直保持着潜心耕耘，不惊不乍，静水深流，沉稳进取的良好态势，情形可喜。

闽越多溪。
不是人们常说的山间小溪流，是大溪，可承当水运，甚至建设大型水电站。大溪有多大呢？以交溪为例，它是福建省第三大河流，是闽江，第二是九龙江。它没有江河之谓，也绝不屈尊做江河的支流，由福建东部直接独流入海，是闽东河流。梅溪，发源于武夷山东部的梅岭，因而得名。梅溪比不上交溪的壮阔，声名却有过之，它不只是一条河流，它倒映着有宋一代诗词和理学璀璨的星斗，柳永、陆游、杨万里、朱熹，他们饮梅溪酿的酒，走过梅溪上的石桥，泛舟梅溪上吟哦，在梅溪畔设坛讲学，诗章著述的华彩，人文际遇的轶事，都让梅溪成为中华传统文化的重要地标之一。
梅溪两岸村落都以梅为名，上游有上梅村，下游有下梅村。北宋词人柳永生于上梅村，及长出乡关到汴京应试，因所作多为歌姬吟唱，毁誉参半，仕途坎坷，落了个“奉旨填词柳三变”，虽有井水处皆歌柳词，难免内心凄凉，思念梅岭梅溪：“一望乡关烟水隔，转觉归心生羽翼……”
我辗转半日迢迢数千里来访梅溪，放眼两岸，虽不复柳七哥少年时的烟村古柳夫子第，依然孔桥卧波，树影横斜。来时路上，我就在想象陆放翁言“萧鼓追随春社近，衣冠简朴古风存”的情景，所作虽不是指梅溪，眼前村落山环水绕，分明就是“山重水复疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”，对应得很。陆游曾两次任武夷山冲佑观提举，武夷山风光，梅溪水徘徊，多少抚慰了他怀才不遇的隐衷，仕途的多舛并没有影响到诗人的爱国情怀，他醉心于大好河山，赞美百姓安居乐业的桃源美景，并且邀请好友杨万里来偕游梅溪两岸。两位当世负盛名的诗人缘溪而下，经过下梅村，见田舍俨然，鸡犬相闻，鸭儿洑于粼粼水波，雅雀归巢森森古树，杨万里睹景生情，口占一绝《过下梅》：
不待山盘水亦回，溪山信美暇徘徊。
行人自趁斜阳急，关得归鸦更苦催。
与杨万里的客旅之叹不同，一代理学宗师朱熹则在梅溪之畔的五夫镇生活了半个世纪之久，其洋洋大观的两千五百万言著述都是在梅岭下的朱子巷完成，圣人过化，儒风传世。朱熹常往来于上下梅讲学，流连于梅岭野村的梅影暗香之间，留下“晓登初移屐，寒香欲满襟”的佳句。朱子尝于前往武夷宫讲授途中，过下梅村之遥山，登顶歇脚之时，遥指梅溪环绕之地对弟子言：“吾看此处景致绝佳，颇具文昌意象。”
梅溪之人文佳话，大略如上。这是我此行之动因，却不是我这篇文章要写的主题。
