作者简介

赵省伟,“西洋镜”“东洋镜”“遗失在西方的中国史”系列丛书主编。厦门大学历史系毕业,自2011年起专注于中国历史影像的收藏和出版,藏有海量中国主题的法国、德国报纸和书籍。

爱德华·福克斯(Edward Fuchs,1870—1940),德国收藏家、历史学家、作家,收藏了大量中国古代艺术品,著有《欧洲各民族讽刺艺术史》等。

周海霞,北京外国语大学德语学院教授, 主要研究领域为中德跨文化交流, 出版有《德国媒体中的中国社会形象与文化形象建构》(2018)等。

前言

前面所说的中国屋顶脊饰,即寺庙、宝塔、门拱、皇宫等建筑上的人形或兽形屋顶脊饰,以及中国寺庙陶瓷制品,在现今的文化和艺术研究中都属于屡受冷遇的领域。迄今为止,在相关领域内,甚至连一本独立的专著都没有,无论是德语文献还是其他语言的文献,都是如此。在我搜集到的相关资料中,只有区区几条不起眼的注释以及个别的文字表述曾提及它们。而它们极有可能就是关于上述主题的全部文献资料了。
明代屋顶脊饰所彰显的宏大气魄、磅礴大气的力量,以及引人注目的精神内涵,恰恰是当下西欧文化艺术创造领域所缺乏的。当下西欧的政治文化既缺乏气魄,也没有力量。虽然现在这种席卷全球的文化灾难对我们影响较小。可是在西欧,我们所处的这个时代的主导性力量在文化创新方面微乎其微,仅比文化修补工作强一点儿而已。像以前一样,今天的人们只是草草地做了一些表面工作,只想在语言表述上做一点儿改进,只想以同样的方式对这种宿命的文化冲突做一点儿粉饰性的工作,却从未勇敢地从根本上重塑这些事物。
