观音签是指置于观音像前,用以吉凶的竹签。根据佛教经典,观音签有一百签和一百三十签两种。一百签起源于天竺寺的观音院,一百三十签则源自圆通寺。天竺寺分上、中、下三院,都以观音为本尊,因此本书以一百签为本,诠释众生众相。这一百签包括生老病死、祸福吉凶、成败得失、婚嫁得子、买卖盈亏、家产置业等。本书解签时,不仅忠实于签文的原始释义,而且参考了相应的佛教经典和数位佛学大师的禅悟。更为难得的是,本书不避芜杂,将签文的典故一一辨取,甚至包含了部分已经失传的典故。《观音签》版本众多,虽然原本无所更改,但真正在解签时做到持之有据、言有所本、字尽其意的,实在不多。所谓“流言止于智者”,但愿本书能给读者可以信服的解释和切实的警示。

张恩富,1953年生于重庆,文史学者,长期从事中国古典文学研究和创作,发表作品数十万字。著有《道家简史》、《唐诗的历史》,与人合译禅宗经典《五灯会元》等。现执教于重庆巴蜀中学。
