  工作不找任何借口“工作无借口”作为西点军校200多年来所奉行的重要的行为准则之一,对所有西点学生强化的是这样一个概念:每一个人,尤其是军人,都应该想尽一切办法去完成任何一项任务,而不是为没有完成任务去寻找任何借口,哪怕是看似合理的借口。
  它强调的是每一个人都应该想尽办法去完成任何一项看似困难重重的任务,而不是把精力用在寻找任何借口上,再合理的借口,也只是开脱自己、推卸责任的推辞。
  也许西点学员会觉得这不太公平,但是这是西点军校,西点的规则就是如此,如果你不服,你可以走人。西点这样严格要求学员,自然有它特殊的目的。长官派学员去做一件事,是期望他圆满地完成任务,而不是为没有完成任务去寻找任何借口,不管这个借口多么地情有可原。
  借口带来的“好处”就是让你不断地为自己去寻找借口,长此以往,你可能就会形成一种寻找借口的习惯,任由借口牵着你的鼻子走。这种习惯具有很大的破坏性,它使人丧失进取心,进而使人松懈、退缩甚至放弃,在这种习惯的作用下,即使是做出了不好的事,你也会认为是理所当然的。其实生活中大部分事情都是能做到的,要相信你可以做得更出色,只要你不把借口摆在前面,就能做好一切。
  亨利。福特在年轻的时候曾有过这样一段经历:他在一所普通大学毕业后到处奔波求职,一次次的应聘失败并没有让他丧失信心。为了获得一间安静、宽敞的实验室,福特和妻子数移其居,吃尽了搬迁之苦。短短的几年,夫妇俩到底搬过几次家连他们自己也说不清了。
