Eher ungewhnlich aber, wenn sich ein kanadisches Electro-Industrial Projekt dieser Thematik widmet. Obwohl, -Canada Electro- seit jeher fr hochkomplexe und tiefschrfende Sounds steht, was bekannte Acts wie Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Numb und Decoded Feedback schon oft belegt haben, haben nur wenige Bands diese Komplexitt thematisch mit einem Konzeptalbum verknpft. Das Ergebnis - das zweite Fractured Album -Beneath The Ashes- - kann sich in dieser Hinsicht sowohl sehen, bzw. hren lassen. Wer nun unterkhlte, sterile oder allzu verschachtelte Sounds erwartet, liegt aber falsch. Fractured gehen eher organisch an die Materie und bringen unter anderem Akustikgitarren- und Orchestersounds zum Einsatz, um ihrer Musik die gewnschte Breite und Tiefe zu geben. Stellenweise geht es sogar richtig soundtrackartig zur Sache, aber diese Experimente werden nur akzentuiert eingesetzt um den Spannungsbogen und den Energiefluss des Albums im Gleichgewicht zu halten. Das Album wirkt demnach geschlossen und kompakt und verweilt trotzdem nie auf einem Level.
