Cast in solid brass and hand polished with an unlacquered finish, the dragonfly wings are delicately picked out in intricate detail.
The dragonfly hinges underneath the tail and the head hangs down and strikes on the striking plate.

How to care for your brass door knocker
Your brass door knocker will develop a mature and mellow patina over time. Many people love this look, but if you feel the brass is getting dirty and covered in grime then you can clean your knocker with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials as they can scratch the surface of the brass. For a more radiant sheen, use a good quality brass polish. Alternatively, Ketchup or Brown Sauce makes a surprisingly good brass polish. Apply with a soft cloth and wipe off after about a minute. Then wash with lukewarm soapy water.
