CONTRAINDICATIONS

>Do not give to puppies or kittens. Do not administer to adult cats for more than 30 days. Long-term use can elevate blood pressure in cats and should be used for short term only. Likely contraindicated for pets with ulcers, edema, bile duct obstruction, silica bladder stones, high blood pressure, pets with disorders that have a tendency towards thin blood such as thrombocytopenia or hemophilia, or pets using other drugs for cardiac disease or blood thinners such as Warfarin(R). Contraindicated for extended use beyond 90 days without breaks in between usage for all animals.

DRUG INTERACTIONSMay potentiate diuretics, blood thinning medications such as Warfarin(R), anticoagulant and anti-platelet drugs, may decrease the effect or reduce the half-life of certain drugs that are metabolized in the liver (Cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) substrates and Glucuronidated drugs). Might slow blood clotting and might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding. CAUTIONSDo not use with puppies or kittens or pregnant or nursing pets. Use caution if your pet has cardiac symptoms or disease or suffers from edema, ulcers, bile duct obstruction, diabetes or hypoglycemia, and monitor your pet's blood sugar levels carefully. Not recommended for long term use alone as it contains a chemical called thiaminase that breaks down the vitamin thiamine, possibly leading to thiamine deficiency and could worsen a thiamine deficiency condition.

Talk to your Vet before adding Hepa Protect to your pet's diet, if your pet has been diagnosed with a bile duct blockage or bile duct disorder. Hepa Protect may increase the flow of bile, a fluid produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Bile passes through small channels (ducts) in the intestine where it plays an important role in digesting fats.

When ducts become blocked, extra bile flow might be harmful in cat/dogs with blocked bile ducts. Hepa Protect can slow blood clotting, so discontinue use at least two weeks prior to the date your pet is scheduled for surgery.

HEPA PROTECT MAX contains a natural plant chemical called berberine, which can cause brain damage in kittens and puppies, however, is SAFE for adult and senior dogs and cats. Berberine can pass from a mother's body into her offspring through the placenta and brain damage can occur to puppies/kittens exposed to berberine.

Dosage

Adult and Senior dogs and cats only. Do NOT give to cats for more than 30 days.

Dogs and cats up to 12 pounds: 1 capsule, one time daily.

Dogs and cats 13-25 pounds: 1 capsule, two times daily.

Dogs and cats 26-50 pounds: 2 capsules, two times daily.

Dogs 51-75 pounds: 3 capsules, two times daily.
