Iris Absolute from Manday Moon is extracted from the roots of Iris pallida, Iris florentina which is sustainably grown in Morocco. Also known as Irelis and Orice.
Iris is is a plant of the genus of the family of gritude, and it has about 150 varieties in the warmer regions of the world. It is familiar in Japan, and it blooms beautiful purple flowers.
It is also commonly used in the perfume industry as a retaining agent (limiting the volatility of the fragrance components, helping the perfume retain its aroma). Orice roots have a soil scent, but after 2 years dry it will have a floral fragrance like a violet and the longer the drying period the stronger the floral scent.
