The product is absorbed into the material it is being applied too. It is not film forming, so should not be used as a coating (like paint). Natural stone should be properly prepared by cleaning with LTP Grimex before application. This will remove any old layers of sealer, dirt and grime and help ensure good penetration of the sealer. Preparation New surfaces: Ensure surface to be treated is as clean and as dry as possible. If necessary, first wash surfaces down with a dilute solution of LTP Grimex (1:10). Scrub well using a white pad. Rinse well and leave overnight to dry. Preparation Older surfaces: Remove blackspot, algae, mildew and stains from detritus use LTP Blackspot & Algae Remover Apply to surfaces undiluted and leave for up 5 hours. Rinse and leave to dry. Wear gloves and ensure that any surfaces not to be treated are covered and protected. IMPORTANT: This product is a permanent staining solution that will darken the surface of the stone and the grout joints making it very difficult to remove once applied. Test on an inconspicuous area before general application and do not walk on treated surfaces until the solution has completely dried. Shake bottle well before use. Apply a small amount to the surface and spread out evenly using a soft cloth or sealant applicator. For rough cut or textured surfaces apply with foam roller or paint brush.
