Der Fat Lui von Monkey Lures wurde speziell für das Raubfischangeln auf Hecht & Zander entwickelt. Der voluminöse Körper erzeugt in Verbindung mit dem abstehenden Schaufelschwanz eine stark flankende und extrem realistische Schwimmbewegung, die sich auf den ganzen Köder samt Kopfbereich erstreckt. Schon bei langsamstem Zug läuft der Fat Lui aufgrund seiner weichen Gummimischung sehr verführerisch.
Die weiche Gummimischung ermöglicht ein einfaches Einfalten des Köders. Dies reduziert Fehlbisse um ein Vielfaches.
Der voluminöse Körper hält der enorm viele Bisse aus, bis man ihn wechseln oder kleben muss. Das besonders große X-Auge dient als Zusatzreiz und leitet die Bisse auf den Kopfbereich des Köders.
Die Köderfarben vom Fat Lui wurden speziell für die, in den europäischen Gewässern, heimischen Raubfische ausgewählt und sprechen besonders Hechte und Zander an.
Das Beißverhalten der Räuber ist oft abhängig von der Wahrnehmung der Köder. Um den Räuber auch bei unterschiedlichen Sichtverhältnissen visuell zu reizen, hat Monkey Lures den Fat Lui mit diversen Dekoren versehen. Wassertrübung und Lichteinfall spielen bei der Farbwahl des Köders eine große Rolle. Bei klarem Wasser und guten Sichtverhältnissen sind es vor allem natürliche Köder mit wenig UV-Aktivität, die den Beutefisch optimal imitieren.
Bei trübem Wasser und schlechten Sichtverhältnissen können auffällige Dekore mit viel UV-Aktivität besser von den Räubern wahrgenommen werden. Den Fat Lui gibt es in vielen fängigen Dekoren, von wenig, über mittel bis stark UV-aktiv ist für jede Bedingung die passende Farbe dabei.
