Description

Here is a 32 oz bottle of liquid, 99.9999% pure 100% undiluted Pharmaceutical Grade DMSO. This product is shipped in a container recommended by the manufacturer. The manufacturer recommends that DMSO be stored in polyethylene or polyethylene lined containers (CAS:67-68-5 EINECS: 200-664-3).

While it is claimed by some people to be widely used for medicinal purposes, it is not approved by the FDA and prolong or repeated contact may dry skin and cause irritation. It is a great solvent, but care must be used when applying it as it absorbs through the skin into the blood stream, almost instantly. No warranty of fitness for any particular purpose, warranty of merchantability, or any other warranty, either expressed or implied, is made.

1. DMSO is a colorless liquid with a slight solvent odor, similar to garlic.

2. DMSO is readily absorbed through skin, and enhances the rate of skin absorption of skin permeable substances.

3. DMSO is irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.

4. DMSO solidifies or freezes at about 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Repeated application of DMSO to the skin results in slight irritation.

6. High vapor concentrations of DMSO may cause drowsiness.



DMSO is a colorless liquid solvent with a slight odor that is similar to garlic. The odor is a characteristic of DMSO and a liquid without that characteristic odor is not pure DMSO. Without the odor it does not have the same chemical makeup commonly and historically known as DMSO. Removing the element causing the odor changes the chemical makeup rendering the liquid to nothing more than a placebo. A liquid without the odor could be anything. Higher purity may have less odor.

When working with DMSO precautions should be observed. Wear latex or similar gloves. Suntan lotions and insect repellents should be washed off prior to working with DMSO in case of an accidental spill on that area of the skin. Products known to be safe or beneficial to the body, such as Aloe Vera may not have to be removed, unless the area has become dirty.

DMSO will freeze or crystallize at about 68 degrees Fahrenheit (18.4 centigrade). That usually occurs during shipment, especially during the winter. It will return to liquid form by keeping it at room temperature for several hours. Thawing may be accelerated by placing the container in warm water. The freezing and thawing process has no affect on the effectiveness of DMSO. Crystallization temperature will vary from 64 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit between batches. Diluted DMSO will have a lower freeze temperature.
