Tebamol - Das reine Teebaumöl
Das ätherische Öl für vielfältige Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Seit vermutlich mehreren Jahrtausenden waren den Bundjalung-Aborigines im Norden von New South Wales die besonderen Eigenschaften der TeebaumBlätter bekannt. Diese wurden - meist nach längerem Einweichen in Wasser von den Ureinwohnern als Aufgüsse und Umschläge verwendet. Doch erst James Cook, der aus den Blättern einen Tee bereiten ließ, machte im Jahre 1770 diesen Wunderbaum über die Grenzen Australiens hinaus bekannt. Daher stammt auch der Name Teebaum (Tea Tree).
Das ätherische Öl wurde erstmals 1925 destilliert und entwickelte sich in Australien im Laufe der Jahre zu einem Universalhausmittel mit vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten. Auch heute noch fehlt es in kaum einem australischen Haushalt! Von den weltweit über 200 existierenden Melaleuca-Arten, zur Familie der Myrtengewächse gehörend, sind nur etwa 30 in Australien heimisch. Nur eine, Melaleuca Alternifolia vom Terpinen-4-ol-Typ - verfügt über die besonderen Eigenschaften. Diese Spezies, im feuchtheißen Klima Australiens wachsend, ist außerordentlich widerstandsfähig und krankheitsresistent und wird selbst unter derartig extremen klimatischen Bedingungen nicht von Pilzen befallen. Aus den Blättern dieses Baumes, die alle 15 bis 18 Monate geerntet werden und sofort wieder nachwachsen, wird durch Wasserdampfdestillation das ätherische Öl gewonnen. Die gesammelten Erkenntnisse über die wirksamen Bestandteile dieses Öls widerspiegeln sich im ISO/DIS-Standard 4730, der für Terpinen-4-ol ein Minimum von 30% festsetzt. Der Anteil an Cineol im Teebaumöl ist hier mit einem Maximum von 15% angegeben.
Vorzügliche Eigenschaften besitzen auch kosmetische Produkte, die echtes australisches Teebaumöl enthalten, wie z.B. Cremes oder Shampoos. Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für das reine ätherische Tebamol Teebaumöl:
Für Mundhygiene und frischen Atem: 1 - 2 Tropfen in 1/2 Glas (ca. 100 ml) lauwarmes Wasser geben, umrühren, den Mund spülen und ausspucken.
Bei unreiner Haut: 2 - 3 Tropfen in ein 1/4 Glas (ca. 50 ml) Wasser geben, umrühren und mit einem Wattebausch, je nach Bedarf, auf die entsprechenden Hautstellen auftragen.
Zur Pflege trockener Haut: 1 - 2 mal wöchentlich ein Pflegebad (durchschnittlich 140 l) mit einer Mischung aus 5 - 10 Tropfen Teebaumöl und 1 - 2 Tropfen Olivenöl nehmen.
Für Sportmassagen: 3 - 5 Tropfen Teebaumöl in ca. 100 ml des Massageöles verrühren. Anschließend auf die Haut auftragen und kräftig massieren.
Schutz vor Mücken, Ameisen und anderen Insekten: Insekten meiden einen Raum, wenn man einige Tropfen Teebaumöl in eine Schale mit warmem Wasser oder in eine Duftlampe gibt und diese in Fensternähe aufstellt. Zusätzlich können einige Tropfen Teebaumöl in einem Massageöl verrührt werden. Diese Mischung auf freiliegende Hautpartien auftragen.
