赵晓是一名高三学生,近她妈妈发现她总是闷闷不乐,经常坐在自己的房间里发呆不说话,妈妈很担心赵晓的情况,就问她是不是在学校里发生了什么事。压抑了好几天的赵晓在妈妈的询问下,忍不住将心中的苦闷倾诉了出来。原来,赵晓近和好朋友闹了点小别扭,心里很烦。赵晓本以为会得到妈妈的劝慰,或者妈妈给自己出个主意,可妈妈的反应却很不屑。在赵晓妈妈看来,高三学生应该将所有的精力都放在学习上,根本不应该为这点儿小事烦恼。表达完自己的不屑后,妈妈还叮嘱赵晓不要因为这点儿小事影响学习。
赵晓遇到的情况十分常见,许多家长都与孩子存在交流问题,因为大多数家长无法听进去孩子的话,每当孩子表达自己的烦恼时,家长总是心不在焉地听,一些家长甚至不等孩子把话说完就打断,然后对孩子进行评论。在许多家长看来,孩子经常为一些鸡毛蒜皮的小事烦恼,而在他们看来这些小事根本算不上烦恼。所以当孩子倾诉自己的烦恼时,家长通常三言两语就把孩子打发了,还会特别交代孩子将精力都放在学习上。
在亲子关系中,家长如果想要和孩子好好沟通,就必须学会共情式倾听。共情式倾听能使家长和孩子相互理解,如果家长都像赵晓的妈妈一样,孩子就会觉得家长不理解自己,不懂得自己的心思,甚至会觉得家长根本不关心自己。在沟通过程中,倾诉很容易做到,倾听也较为容易,可真正的共情式倾听却很困难。
共情式倾听意味着自己要将所有的注意力都集中在对方身上。倾听者不仅要理解对方的意思和想法,还要放下自己的想法和判断,只有这样我们才能与对方产生共情,深入对方的内心,感受到对方的情绪、情感。
在亲子交流中,家长如果想要成为一名共情式倾听者,就必须向孩子传达一个信号,即自己愿意站在孩子的角度去理解孩子所说的话,去理解孩子的内心感受。这对于许多家长来说是一件很困难的事情,因为家长在与孩子相处时,通常会只顾自己说,用自己的想法去评判孩子的言行,而不是放低姿态,多听孩子表达、倾诉。家长除了要通过孩子的表达了解清楚事情的原委外,还要注意孩子的情绪。例如在上述案例中,赵晓的妈妈听明白了事情的原委,只是女儿在和好朋友闹矛盾,可她没有注意到女儿的情绪,她只站在自己的角度去看待闹矛盾这件事情,所以她觉得这只是件不值得在意的小事,可正是这件所谓的小事让赵晓苦闷了好几天。只有在倾听中多注意观察孩子的情绪,家长才能更准确地了解孩子的心理状态。
我们如果想要做到共情式倾听,就需要在倾听的时候时刻与对方保持眼神交流,身体前倾,而且在对方表达完毕后,重述一下对方的想法和感受,以确定自己是否理解有误,也让对方确认自己是否正确理解了对方的感受和想法。例如家长在和孩子进行沟通的时候,好不要躺在沙发上,因为这会让孩子觉得家长高高在上,不利于沟通的进行,而且等孩子说完自己所遇到的问题后,家长要确认一下他的感受,而不是简单地评判或斥责。
