麻线鞋
在敦煌的市集看到一种用麻线编的鞋，很像古画里西行求法的僧侣脚上穿的那种。下面是好几层旧布料和纸片，用糨糊黏成厚鞋底，手工缝纳的粗麻线线脚，结结实实，看起来有可以行万里路的牢靠。鞋帮和鞋头也是用几层的厚布裁制，鞋面两侧却是用软麻线牵成，像今日的透空凉鞋，都是缝隙。我拿在手中，看了很久，这鞋的样式太熟悉了，敦煌洞窟壁画供养人像里僧侣脚上都有一双这种样式的鞋，画中玄奘大师身背行囊，脚上也有一双。看起来只是旧布料旧纸片缝制，拿在手中也很轻，却难以想象西行求法者或许就是穿着这样的鞋，踏过漫漫长途，千里迢迢，走去了天竺。护持着求法者誓愿深重的一双脚，这鞋，握在手中，仿佛有了不同的分量。廉价、结实，不是糊弄观光客的粗糙工艺，当地平民百姓日常生活的必需品，每天要穿着行走，坏了就要换，才会如此平价而扎实吧。我买了几双，第二天清晨就穿上这鞋上鸣沙山。
鞋子穿在脚上，踏在沙里，才发现它传承上千年的价值。鞋底入沙，不滞碍，不滑溜，仿佛是沙的一部分。脚抬起时，沙粒即从两边透空缝隙滑出，脚趾干干净净，不沾黏沙尘。轻盈柔软，通风透凉，这样的鞋，是可以走过这8月烈日下四十公里长的鸣沙山了。
鸣沙山下有月牙泉，在金色起伏的沙丘间，一汪碧绿透亮的泉水。弯弯的月牙，搭配着沙丘优美弧线，像是古老阿拉伯湛蓝夜空里的新月，安静、纤细、纯粹，是每个夜晚一千零一夜故事的开始。“沙不涸泉，泉不掩沙”，上千年来往过的人都留下了对这奇迹风景的描写。如同佛弟子合十微笑，听了一段梵音经文，除了欢喜赞叹，好像没有多余的言语。这样干净的沙，这样干净的泉水，这样干净的僧侣穿着踏过沙丘和泉水的麻线鞋，使我觉得脚趾和步履都一样洁净了起来。
走到沙丘高处，远眺月牙泉。游客远了，言语笑声远了，可以听到风中鸣沙，很细微的叮咛，像一种颂赞，也像心事独白，脑海浮起敦煌石窟里刚刚看过的萨埵那太子舍身饲虎的壁画。
